Welch Packaging currently seeking a Business Analyst in our Elkhart, Indiana location.

The Business Controller function is a key management and support service for the Corrugated Plants providing management with essential business analysis, reporting and planning while still serving an integral role in Accounting and Audit by managing major components of the balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all analysis, reporting, and audit documentation for Accounts Receivable, Inventory and Fixed Asset in accordance with Company Policy and Generally Accepted Principles.
  • Maintain accounting support workpapers for waste, scrap sales, customer rebates programs, returns and allowances
  • Maintain database cost estimating systems
  • Provide regular reporting of Customer Sales, Gross Margins, and Volume, Price and Mix analysis
  • Participate in Plant initiatives, process improvement projects, and cost savings programs.
  • Assist Plant management with Business Planning including the Business and Staff Models
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. Five (5) years prior accounting experience and prior cost accounting experience required. Good organizational, analytical and communication skills. Excellent problem solving and leadership skills. Internal and external customer focus. Computer literacy with the Company database systems and Windows applications. Ability to read and write English. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and working with fractions and percentages. Ability to travel to various Welch companies as needed, up to 50% of time.
