Welch Packaging is currently seeking a Human Resources Project Leader in our Elkhart office.

Responsible for planning, organizing and coordination of HR functions related to Mergers and Acquisitions, Recruiting, Training and Development and key HR projects as required.

  1. Responsible for all phases of mergers and acquisition work from due diligence, payroll preparation, day one logistics and presentation, 90 day transition plan to hand off to HR Manager responsible for acquired location
  2. Responsible for sourcing, qualifying and recruiting key positions in the organization as directed by the VP of HR
  3. Super user for the company Applicant Tracking System and maintain system integrity.
  4. Serves as point person on all Human Resource training and development, including onboarding of new associates.  Will establish and ensure process and documentation is in place for the HR function
  5. Responsible for the execution of key HR projects, including, but not limited to, Open Enrollment, Differentiation, Service Awards, Service Appreciation Bonuses
  6. Support the recruiting, training and development for the Company's Leadership Development program (LDP).  
  7. Sets up and maintains tracking systems for performance reviews, open enrollment and other items as directed by the VP of HR
  8. Supports benefits and insurance administration; works closely with Group Compensation & Payroll Administrator
  9. Is a key resource for specific HR projects and supporting the Global HR team.
  10. Maintains strict confidentiality of files, salaries and other information of a business or personal nature.
  11. Stays current of changes in federal, state and local employment laws, and ensures locations are in full compliance.
  12. Comply with company policies and procedures.
  13. Additional duties as assigned by management.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development or related field required. Five years of human resources or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment required.  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple work assignments and employee/outside requests under strict time constraints. Must be capable of working independently and taking the initiative to resolve issues in a timely manner to avert employee morale problems. Good organizational, analytical and communication skills. Excellent problem solving and leadership skills. Ability to read and write English.  Solid knowledge of labor laws effecting employment practices. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR Information Systems.
