Shift 7am - 3:30pm

SUMMARY
Responsible for the leadership, safety, quality and the effective use of resources in the Shipping Department. The Shipping Manager reports to the Plant Manager and works in conjunction with Scheduling, Production, Maintenance and Customer Service to provide the Customer with the "Ultimate Corrugated Experience" at the lowest cost.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensures that the Transportation Department works in a safety conscious manner and is involved in improving the safety environment of the department, zero TCR
2. Route all trucks while maintaining minimum empty trailer space and time loss.
3. Pull backlogs and interpret to determine future ship schedules.
4. Create and communicate ship schedules
5. Plan driver schedules
6. Ensure all driver logs and pre-trip inspections are completed daily and correctly
7. Plan and forecast shipments 3- 5 days in advance
8. Responsible for training new associates and continuing the development of current associates.
9. Review shipments for damage, accuracy and correct BOL's.
10. Organize and host mandatory DOT training sessions
11. Ability to cut BOLs for deliveries
12. Maintain department housekeeping, product storage and transportation
13. Responsible for accurate scanning and storage of product.
14. Ensure compliance of all Government Reporting and Records
15. Review all department associates twice a year. Associates rated "c" will require an action plan to improve status.
